Hi all, I’m an OR nursing professional thinking about moving into a surgical technologist role, and I’m trying to understand the main differences between the CSFA and CST certification exams. I’ve looked at some comparison charts from the credentialing bodies and read a few discussion topics, but I’m still uncertain on how the content and difficulty really compare, and what kinds of employment prospects each certification might open up. For one thing, which exam tends to be more hard? Also, from a hands-on standpoint, how do employers view CSFA vs CST credentials when it comes to progression or salary potential? If anyone has personal experience or insights, especially regarding how these certifications changed your career path, it would be extremely valuable.
